| Job Description: |
Independently identify, consult, resolve and document complex tax issues proactively with clients and accounting firms; document and escalate all tax issues as required, develop and maintain high profile client relationships; serve as a tax technical contact for the department and operations group; and will research and provide resolutions for tax and operational matters impacting tax. Responsibilities include: - Oversee the review of funds and provide consultation as needed. - Oversee and manage the entire tax reporting process including the timely and accurate delivery of all client deliverables. - Perform the appropriate level of review to ensure all tax deliverables are accurate. - Ensure the update and maintenance of departmental standards, operating manuals, internal and external reports. - Identify, research and resolve tax issues and address complex client requests. - Oversee coordination of tax estimates and year-end tax reporting. - Attend and oversee regular meetings with operations group to identify key issues, increase knowledge of fund operations, and increase efficiencies of the information flow process. - Ensure appropriate documentation is maintained for all relevant tax matters by fund. - Ensure timely, effective issue resolution including the identification and mitigation of risk. - Oversee all day-to-day activities and review necessary calculations. - Maintain a controlled operating environment and mitigate operational and financial risks. - Ensure operation functions within established budgets. - Liaise frequently with Tax Managers and staff to ensure all fund issues are being addressed. - Train, develop, and evaluate all staff. - Oversee, comment on and participate in staff performance reviews. - Plan personnel/staffing requirements for group (in conjunction with senior management) in order to meet all its current and future commitments and assist in the recruitment process. - Oversee set up of new clients in the tax process. - Recommend, prioritize, and oversee the implementation of tax systems, workpaper and workflow enhancements. - Remain informed of applicable tax changes and of industry developments. |

| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related discipline - CPA and/or Masters level Tax degree a plus - Minimum of 6+ years' tax experience, most of which must include significant experience with partnerships and alternative investment products. - Experience dealing with and resolving complicated Sub K issues - Experience managing several people and projects. - Strong working knowledge of excel is required. -Knowledge of fund accounting or investment accounting packages. - Familiar with IBM-compatible computers and basic business applications. - Ability to identify areas for systems and applications improvement and work with IT and operations in order to effect change. - Act as liaison or business sponsor on systems projects. |
