Job Description: Company is nationwide single-family residential mortgage lender that originates, acquires and retains investments in adjustable-rate mortgage originator and portfolio lender with a niche focus on jumbo ARMS for clients with superior credit histories and complex financial planning goals. The company is headquartered in Southwest US, and currently employs approximate 200 people. Why you should you consider a career with Company? Company is not conventional mortgage company. It deals only with jumbo ARM loans averaging $617.000 in size. The company’s mortgage portfolio is comprised primarily of AAA rated, AA rated government guaranteed ARM assets – no sub-prime loans. Responsibilities Reports to CEO, assume highly visible and mission critical role. Combines both strategic and tactical management and implementation and requires an individual with strong conceptual skills broad technical knowledge and well-developed interpersonal skills. He/She will have direct supervision over 3 full time employees who in turn supervise eight full time employees. Responsible to lead teams, manage, oversee all accounting, internal and external reporting, financial planning, budgeting and analysis within Company. Financial reporting, month end close, cash management and forecasting, stock option administration and ensuring all transactions are accounted for in accordance with GAAP Supervise Controller, Financial Systems Manager and Financial Analysis Manager. Use comprehensive knowledge of and experience with matters of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, the Security Exchange Commissions and all related policies, regulations, procedures and compliance/legal issues. Maintain all financial systems and processes, responsible for all financial reporting including public reporting, corporate accounting policies, and technical GAAP reporting. Oversee the preparation of any subsidiary and/or affiliate financial statements. Ensure tax compliance and oversee tax preparation. Ensure timely and accurate financial information is distributed to investors, senior management and relevant internal business partners.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelor's, None, None
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Able to combine demonstrated accounting and finance technical mastery at the Senior Management Level with a strong entrepreneurial predisposition. In particular, the ideal candidate must demonstrate the following experience, knowledge, personal traits and capabilities: Twelve plus years of progressive experience in and accounting/finance management/leadership role including a minimum of five years at the controller level for a publicly traded company Demonstrate mastery in technical accounting matters, SEC reporting for a public company, treasury/cash management, taxes and bank relationships Previous experience managing the audit of publicly traded company required. Previous audit experience in a “Big 4” environment preferred Advanced knowledge of securitizations and derivatives necessary Significant financial industry experience required; previous lending business experience a plus Demonstrated proficiency in capital structure strategy, capital investment strategy, dividend policy and M&A processes. Thorough knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes Oxley Experience in the Financial Services/Mortgage industry is required
