10061 Tax Manager-Family Wealth Management--Top 100 CPA Firm Job

Location: VA-Reston   McLean
Mid-Atlantic (DE, DC, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA & WV)
Salary Range: 90,000 - 110,000
Total Compensation: 90,000 - 120,000
Job Description: The Family Wealth Management (FWM) Group works exclusively with high net worth individuals to provide comprehensive tax, estate planning and other vital consulting services. Responsibilities As a FWM Tax Manager, you will have the opportunity to make an impact by: Understanding the technical issues and possessing the skills necessary to review complex individual related tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1041, 709 & 990-PF Understanding the technical issues and possessing the skills necessary to review basic business tax returns, including Forms 1065 and 1120S Reviewing projects and returns prepared by Tax Staff and Seniors Preparing invoices, following up on receivables and developing budgets Performing research and preparing consulting projects Communicating directly with clients and their advisors by phone email or in person, and serving as the primary point of contact Attending client meetings alone or with a supervisor Identifying tax planning & consulting opportunities, including coordination with client's other advisors Proactively communicating with supervisors on status of projects and assistance needed Handling administrative responsibilities including billing, interviewing candidates, participating in training as an attendee and as a leader
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelor's, Certified Public Accountant, None
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Must have current public accounting experience, CPA required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and auditing standards Understanding of a broad range of accounting issues including those involving higher levels of judgment such as: priority for income taxes, revenue recognition, subsequent events, contingencies and industry specific procedures Experience with Prosystems and BNA Tax planner preferred Knowledge of accounting, tax, audit and related business trends Ability to review and provide feedback on work prepared by Tax Staff and Seniors in a professional manner Ability to gather, organize and summarize information efficiently and effectively Ability to adhere to given budgets and time deadlines Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet Manages own time and the time of others Motivates, develops and directs people as they work Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills Applies principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail Interviews, trains and orients staff Educational & Experience Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field Active Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA) or Juris Doctorate (JD) required Minimum four years experience; preferably relevant U.S. public accounting experience Experience working with high net worth individuals preferred Minimum two years of management experience
