Our Client is a top 25 CPA firm with offices in the Northeast. No relo provided, only consider local candidates. Client prefers candidates out of large to medium public accounting firms. Position is based in Bridgewater, NJ. Required: CPA & Current public accounting experience in a top 100 CPA Firm The Tax Manager in the State and Local Tax practice is responsible for tax return review; close interaction with client providing compliance, consulting and planning; assist in client management and practice development activities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA, Masters in Taxation, or JD/LLM 5-7 years of State and Local Tax experience in public accounting Well rounded state tax experience, with sales / use tax experience a plus. Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and combined state tax returns. Duties: Tax return review, tax research, preparation of technical memorandums, drafting client correspondence, and audit defense. Tax planning and consulting including: multi-state reviews analysis of income, franchise, sales and use, payroll and others taxes to identify favorable filing options, exemptions, credits & incentives, and corporate structures. Return review for more complex State and Local Tax returns including Income and Franchise Tax, Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, etc. Recommendations regarding business and process improvement for clients and serve as a business advisor Respond to inquiries from state tax authorities and related resolution |
