Location: CA-San Diego  
West Coast/Northwest (CA, OR, WA, AK & HI)
Salary Range: 125,000 - 200,000
Total Compensation: 125,000 - 200,000
Job Description: Director of Statistical Analysis duties: Take the lead designer and team leader roles for a broad range of statistical and computational activities that include – Pricing debt portfolios using score-based techniques -- Behavioral modeling – Developing new statistical approaches to support valuation and collections activities • People management within team, and the ability to influence peers and colleagues across departments • Serve as a primary statistical consultant to the broader organization around hypothesis testing, experimental design, and operational analysis • Provide direction for the analytic work within the department • Act as a cross-functional leader for projects and initiatives in conjunction with one or more of the operational channels Candidate skills must combine statistical expertise, strong business analytics, and quantitative rigor. Must have extensive experience in credit risk assessment, longitudinal and outcome-based modeling, and a commitment to achieving business goals through partnership and mentorship. Successful candidates are likely to show equal comfort discussing the academic merits of a new statistical method, the impact of macroeconomic factors on consumer behavior, or the mechanisms that drive a business channel’s revenue and cost expectations.

Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Director of Statistical Analysis qualifications QUALIFICATIONS • 6-8 years of relevant work experience in financial services, technical or medical fields dealing with creditrisk management and consumer behaviour • Proficiency with base SAS and SAS/STAT • Experience with traditional longitudinal and cohort analyses • Strong knowledge of some or all of the following: Logit models, generalized linear models, categorical data analyses, ANOVA and regression • MA/MS degree in mathematics or a quantitative science, with substantial coursework in statistics and design (PhD in mathematics or a quantitative science preferred) • Academic publications, or equivalent experience demonstrating peer-reviewed, subject matter expertise in research design, statistics and analysis
