11141 Manager - Internal Controls Job

Location: WA-Seattle

Salary Range: 110,000 - 110,000

Job Description: Large public company has an immediate opening for a Manager – Internal Controls. This position will initially report to the Vice President – Financial Projects within the Corporate Controller’s Group. The company plans to complete the acquisition of another company late in April or early in May. The acquired company had 2009 revenue of approximately $500 million. The consummation of the acquisition will require multiple integration tasks, including and completing the initial SOX 404 compliance review and coordinating any necessary remediation. The Manager – Internal Controls will be the responsible manager to complete these tasks. After the initial assignment concludes in Q1 2010, the Manager – Internal Controls will be considered for multiple assignments such as Business Unit Controller in one of the acquired company business units or in one of the other two segments’ business units, a 1 to 2 year staff development rotation within Internal Audit, or even possibly an international assignment. In the absence of any of these reassignments being mutually acceptable, the Manager – Internal Controls would transfer into the Financial Analysis and Reporting Group located at the company’s corporate offices. The Manager – Internal Controls will be required to regularly travel to US work locations to complete the 2010 SOX work plan. Travel is assumed to be in excess of 50% through Q1 2010. A task completion bonus will be provided to partially compensate for this hardship. The primary skills required are: SOX 404 – assisting line accounting staff to define risks, identify key controls, develop process narratives, remediate deficiencies, etc. Managing a staff of 4 to 6 people comprised of both consultants and employees. Experience as project manager. Strong working knowledge of financial reporting.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelor's, Certified Public Accountant, None
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Experience as project manager. Strong working knowledge of financial reporting. CPA Public accounting experience Strong communication skills – initial assignment will require the combined skills of a Project Manager and Consultant Knowledge of ERP – J.D. Edwards Open to relocation
Preferred Qualifications: Work experience in the E&C and Electric industries Sustained career progression
