Location: DC-Washington  
Mid-Atlantic (DE, DC, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA & WV)
Salary Range: 70,000 - 75,000

Job Description: General Purpose of Job/Summary: The Financial Analyst - Budgeting & Analysis is responsible for assisting the Senior Financial Officer with budgeting, financial analysis, quality control, and administration. The Financial Analyst is responsible for complying with the operational policies and procedures established by Vornado/Charles E. Smith and Vornado Realty Trust. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ? Assist in the preparation of the divisional budget and reforecasts. ? Develop, test and improve budget systems and processes. ? Assist Senior Financial Officer with month-end reporting and analysis for divisional Executive Committee. ? Prepare variance analysis for divisional revenues and expenses. ? Liaison with Corporate budget group, IT department and Paramus, NJ service center. ? Quality control and assist with divisional month-end close process. ? Complete special projects (including ad hoc profitability analysis, leasing analysis, etc.) as needed. Education/Experience: BA/BS degree (in accounting or finance) required. Minimum three (3) years experience in accounting required. Prior accounting and analytical experience in property management or real estate preferred. Public accounting firm experience preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPA certificate or candidacy preferred. Technical Experience: ? Strong computer skills including intermediate knowledge of Windows, specifically Excel and Word and some familiarity with accounting software packages (Timberline, IBS, etc.) preferred. ? Proficiency in financial modeling and electronic spreadsheets using Excel. ? Ability to learn and effectively use internal, customized software packages such as IBS. Other Skills/Requirements: ? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). ? Ability to work with senior management as well as support personnel. ? Real estate analytical skills: accurately collect, interpret, organize and evaluate detailed lease, operating and financial data. ? Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to rapidly changing priorities and consistently meet deadlines. ? Ability to work independently as well as support the goals and deadlines of the Accounting team. ? Strong financial/analytical and organization skills. ? Composed demeanor, professional appearance, positive attitude and customer-oriented approach are priorities for this position. ? Exercises good judgment and uses discretion. ? Ability to keep processes moving forward, take initiative and follow-up as appropriate. ? Must be reliable, dependable with excellent attendance, flexible and versatile. ? Must be confident and capable when communicating with customers inside and outside the company.
