Duties / Responsibilities:
SUMMARY Manages the Marketing Department which is responsible for both initiating and supporting actions intended to develop and maintain the Bank’s competitive position in its target market area. Works directly with management to establish an overall marketing program that supports the strategic plan of the organization. Contributes to the growth and profitability of the bank through the management of marketing, advertising, support of branch sales, community relations, business marketing, customer service, new product development, and research. Ensures that a marketing and sales awareness prevails bank-wide. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. In collaboration with Bank’s Senior Managers, develop annual marketing plan to support overall strategic direction and current year objectives. The plan directly relates to the Bank’s annual business plan and the goal attainment efforts of the various departments affected by it. Develop short and long term goals and objectives for the marketing functions and incorporate them into an annual marketing plan. 2. Develop an annual corporate public relations plan. Oversee press relations and direct the development and writing of press releases, including but not limited to promotions, new hires, bank events and financial information. 3. Conceptualize, create and implement marketing and public relations programs which will favorably project the bank’s image and goals while promoting its products and services. Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events. Provide support to Mortgage Loan department marketing efforts to ensure a consistent bankwide image. 4. Develop and administer a comprehensive and dynamic marketing budget. 5. Research and determine new product developments and product enhancements. Stay informed of competitive situations and of new, successful ideas and methods in the marketing and public relations industry. Develop and distribute actionable market information with regard to industry and competitive developments, market share tracking and customer analysis. Help identify and open new markets. Conduct marketing surveys on customer satisfaction, new and current product concepts, and provide feedback for future product development and customer service initiatives. 6. Maintain current understanding of economic, regulatory, legal, competitive and societal issues relative to the Bank’s goals and markets. Insure that all marketing programs and materials meet FDIC and state regulatory requirements. 7. Responsible for the overall management of the Synapsys system to include coordination between Marketing, IT, Operations, and business lines in the bank and continually review the system to insure that it is the most advanced, efficient and user friendly possible. Directly manage the Sales Tracking analysis function (MCIF Wizard) for the purpose of accurately identifying target prospects and their needs, matching their needs with Bank Services and pricing (in conjunction with relevant product/service managers and Bank committees), distribution of prospect lists in a timely manner to business development representatives and evaluation of sales results and customer feedback from customer contact personnel. In addition, consult with Business Lines Managers on an on-going basis for the purpose of reviewing activity relative to goals and the need for system enhancements or changes as necessary. Maintain and effectively use the customer database marketing system to track and analyze the Bank’s retail and business sales campaigns for relationship and household/business penetration percentage, function as the primary means for performing relationship management analysis and serve as marketing research tool for various customer, branch product, etc. market studies. 8. Position, develop and manage the Bank’s website to include the consistent integration of input from the various departments of the Bank and its evolution as an interactive delivery system (Internet branch office) alternative available to current as well as potential customers of the Bank. In addition, serve as Chairperson of the Internet Committee which is responsible for the ongoing review of the website, Internet banking developments and adherence to the Bank approval Internet Banking Policies and Procedures and all governing state and FDIC regulations. 9. Serve as member of the Bank’s strategic planning group for the purpose of providing marketing input in the development of the Bank’s annual as well as long term strategic plans. 10. Serve on the CRM Leadership Team and support all CRM initiatives including attendance at different department and branch meetings weekly. 11. Serve as Chairperson of the Bank’s Marketing Committee, which is responsible for setting strategic product development direction, reviewing and approving all product development efforts within the Bank. Assists in product enhancement and new product development efforts. Works directly with operation area to ensure operational capability of new products. 12. Serve as a member of the ALCO committee for the purpose of reviewing retail deposit rates and as needed develop, implement and evaluate deposit programs for either retention, acquisition, new customers, asset/liability matching or liquidity purposes. 13. Direct and manage a full advertising agency relationship to insure the development of effective and timely advertising programs. Develop and implement an effective advertising media mix that is consistent with the Bank’s strategic direction and initiatives. 14. Monitor and revise as necessary the branch merchandising system to include posters, signage and brochures so that it is effective in enhancing the Bank’s image and creating sales. 15. Enhance the Bank’s corporate image by means of developing and maintaining attractive and effective outdoor headquarters and branch signage as well as reviewing the outside appearance of the Branch offices. 16. Support the community development efforts of the Bank by means of Public Relations advertising & personal community involvement. Review all donation and public relations related requests for approval or declination. Coordinate the bank’s participation at trade shows and community events. 17. Manage and develop the staff so that the department is highly motivated, productive and continually challenged. Provides Leadership, development and coaching. Manage the department so that it is proactive in nature, yet always supportive of the needs of other departments in the Bank and continually evolving to stay consistent with industry and marketplace developments. 18. Attend and actively participate in various Bank committees. 19. Provides support for Product and Sales training. 20. Provides marketing activity reports for executive management. 21. Perform other duties as requested.
