| Position Responsibilities: |
The global network of Client companies encompasses Client's worldwide trading activities. The business possesses an unsurpassed portfolio in crude oil, refined products, natural gas, electrical power and chemicals, and positions Client to leverage its scale, global reach, talent and financial strength to compete strongly in the evolving energy trading market.
With volumes of about 14 million barrels of crude oil equivalent per day, spread over Client's business units, Client has the skill base and international scope to capitalize on trading opportunities inherent in Client's asset and market positions around the world. Client companies are sited in various locations, with key trading and marketing operations located in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas - including North America, South America and Canada.
Client is currently seeking a Senior Credit Analyst - Gas Team for its Houston, Texas location.
Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the credit function related to Client's gas, storage, and transportation activities for each trading office location - Houston, San Diego, Calgary, and Syracuse.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Evaluating transaction & counter party credit risk and financial stability
- Recommending appropriate credit limits
- Monitoring assigned portfolio for change in credit quality
- Providing credit support to Client's commercial efforts
- Interfacing with customers, negotiating credit enhancements and credit provisions within contracts (assisted by contract administration and legal)
- Working closely with Traders, Marketers and Originators. |

| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
You will have good working knowledge of the overall structure and credit language provisions contained within the various mater contracts (ISDA, NAESB, EEI, and WSPP) that house a marketing and trading company's respective transactions as well as the implications these provisions have on the management of credit risk and liquidity requirements.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong financial/credit analysis skill set complemented by a thorough understanding of the business, financial, and credit risk present in marketing and trading transactions.
- Strong PC skills including working knowledge of "Excel" for financial analyses and modeling/forecasting and "Word" for day-to-day communication tasks
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of derivatives products (swaps, options, etc.) and what credit risk may stem from these products
- Strong writing skills, which will be used to support the overall credit risk assessment process, and associated recommendation(s)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills that support the incumbent's ability to work with a diverse group of customers both internal and external
- Strong negotiation skills needed to support the negotiation of master contracts as well as internal communication requirements with the commercial staff
- Ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment in a time-sensitive environment.
- Team player that demonstrates initiative and is able to handle multiple tasks striking the appropriate balance among quality versus quantity. |
