Position Responsibilities: The Head of Finance Advice & Treasury responsibilities cover front line finance advice and support to Client Company in North America, including Syracuse, Houston and San Diego offices in the US, Canada (Calgary) and Mexico. This includes advice on new business developments, fiscal issues, analysis and interpretation of business financial performance, supporting commercial in business planning and updating forecasts, treasury management, adequacy of liquidity, working capital, continued development of the control and governance framework, efficiency and effectiveness of financial structure and performance reviews and improvements to Operations support to the commercial organization. This role is a key FN representative for the commercial team, ensuring that advice, support and control are pro-active and timely. These responsibilities include a "facilitation” role between the business executive and the rest of either Operations (IT or Global Commercial Operations) or Finance (Risk Control, Compliance and Finance Services) to ensure a) there is appropriate and timely input to key business decisions by Operations and b) that both the business and Operations are informed on key issues. Position description – Accountabilities - Co-ordinate and provide finance support the business in development of structured transactions/deal economics/risks and associated mitigants/fiscal issues. e.g. re-gassed LNG marketing; new energy products, and business deals e.g. long-term energy and transportation; risk management products to customers through pro-active risk assessment/mitigation and measurement; economic assessment; guidance on implementation of investment guidelines and authorization levels; compliance with Group and corporate mandates/authorities. - Ensure that business strategies, plans and policies are based on sound financial and commercial/business arguments. Advise on matters relating to inter-alia: business strategy; business development or divestment. - Act as the Operations representative for business advice related to STGP strategy, new business development or divestment, specific deal advice, and Board information. - Provide finance advice and support on treasury matters concerning financing; working capital and cash flow management; foreign exchange exposure; related fiscal advice; efficiency and effectiveness of corporate financial structure and efficacy; and, performance of FN support to the Commercial team. - Establish entity fiscal and financial structures to support the business in the most economically effective manner. This includes entity structures, financing and dividend policy & the management of x cross border activity. - Manage commercial’s annual planning and budget. Support forecasting; analysis and interpretation of business financial performance. - Takes a pro-active role in the continued development, monitoring and maintaining of a robust control environment, ensuring that controls meet relevant jurisdictional regulatory environments, Client Trading and Group standards. - Support the maintenance and management of relationships with the credit rating agencies; coordinate quarterly liquidity adequacy reporting to S&P. - Continued development of a highly motivated, diverse and competent Finance Advice team. Particular responsibilities include managing the talent pipeline & succession within a high caliber/strong performing team of finance professionals, to maintain & improve the standards and competencies within NA trading finance advice & treasury and also develop finance personnel through cross-business sector postings. Dimensions: 5 major locations Manage governance and financial interface with G&P business Manage relationships with credit rating agencies Number of reports 63 (6 direct) Trading on NYMEX (CFTC regulated)
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Experience and Qualifications required · College degree + professional accounting qualification (ACA / CPA) · 10+ years experience in financial roles · Deep knowledge of the NA G&P business and Trading mid and back office · Full understanding of life of deal process, controls and compliance · Expertise in risk control and credit · Experience of functional leadership - locally and remote regional offices · Experience of working in a Matrix organization · Strong networking skills · Strong commercial awareness · Knowledge of trading processes, systems and integration · Knowledge of regulatory / legal regime in US

Additional Comments: Additional comments The Head of Finance Advice & Treasury role exposes the individual to all aspects of the physical and derivatives energy business from the movement of international energy cargoes on large tankers, power generation, storage, pipeline and transmission transportation through to derivatives such as futures, swaps, options, forwards, and transmission congestion contracts.
