Position Responsibilities: The USA Aviation business of our client has developed rapidly over the last 3 years. Along with the rest of the global Aviation business, the USA business is profitable with further growth opportunities. Working with the various Aviation functional teams in the USA and the Controls Advisor and Credit colleagues in the other regions (there are 5 regions across the global business), this role will design, implement, monitor and assess financial and business controls appropriate for the various USA Aviation business models, and apply globally adopted aviation credit management guidelines for the USA Region. Position description - Accountabilities Controls Advisor key activities are: 1) Part of the Aviation Global Controls Advisor organization with focus on the North American region 2) Develop and implement the control framework necessary for the order to cash process and related MI and KPI reporting. 3) Manage SOX related activity assigned to this position, including compliance self-assessment testing, training for staff on control procedures, OtC matrix development and maintenance and Hearts and Minds training 4) Manage the Business Risk and Assurance processes. 5) Provide advice, counsel and interpretation to the business on accounting, and controls issues 6) Manage general accounting activities currently performed within Aviation US. Prepare and coordinate transfer of these activities to the US Controller’s organization Credit Manager key activities are : 1) Part of the Aviation Credit Mgr organization with focus on the North America region. 2) Providing the Sales team with financial evaluation of aviation customers in the region (approx. 100 customers), including evaluation of credit limits and credit trading term options 3) Providing guidance (calculation of prepayments and maintenance of the customer trade debtor ledger prepay accounts) on managing prepayment accounts 4) Providing MI for the Business on credit performance 5) Ensuring appropriate Credit related controls are in operation. Position description - Dimensions The Aviation US Business is a global business with capital employed of over USD 150 million, sales of over 2.5 billion gallons of fuel annually and revenue of USD 5 billion. This position reports to the Aviation Global Controls Advisor and Credit Mgr at Headquarters. The position will work closely with the other aviation regional Controls Advisors and Credit Mgrs and Headquarters Accounting and Controllers Group. Position description - Special Challenges Develop and work through diverse networks in order to implement global processes & best practices that meet Aviation, Downstream, and Group policies. Working with the Aviation USA Streamline focal point, ensure appropriate systems are being used by the business, which are (or will be) Streamline compliant and assist in the conversion of non streamline compliant systems.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors, CPA preferred
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge and experience with corporate governance and controls framework, SOX and Group policies and standards. Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Aviation business and experience in Credit Management activities would be helpful
