Our client is a $2.5 billion, publicly traded financial services organization located in the Boston area. It is seeking for a high profile candidate for its corporate finance organization.
The ideal candidate will have completed 2-3 years in investment banking, strategy consulting or will have demonstrated world-class performance at another (re)insurer or financial services institution. While we will consider both pre- and post-MBA candidates, a top-10 MBA or undergrad degree is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate will be both a thought-partner and natural leader and will play a critical role in managing our financial strategy to support our journey to become a world class company.
For a pre-MBA candidate, this would be a great opportunity to broaden and deepen his or her finance experience while working with alumni of a number of top-5 MBA programs. For the right post-MBA candidate with significant prior financial or other relevant experience, this would be an opportunity to manage a number of critical areas and quickly have a major strategic impact on the finance function and the company as a whole.
We’re committed to hiring and developing world-class talent and are confident the strategic nature and senior exposure of this role will lead to a variety of subsequent opportunities in both financial and operating management.
Typical projects and responsibilities will include:
* Being a creative thought partner on traditional corporate finance
- Leading analyses to refine our financing, tax & capital management strategies
- Participating in M&A strategy development and providing support on key initiatives
* Managing our strategic risk management process and conducting other critical economic analyses
- Managing our dynamic financial analysis, risk-of-ruin and “economic capital” processes
- Leading risk/return analysis of traditional reinsurance treaties as well as “risk-linked” securities
- Leading efforts to holistically analyze risk/return of major investments (IT, agent comp, distribution investments, M&A, etc)
* Participating as a thought partner in our corporate performance monitoring process
- Assessing and challenging business unit results & strategies
- Partnering with business unit finance & operating leaders to drive a ROE focused culture
* Helping to provide assistance with key business challenges, such as
- Developing a product & financing strategy for our $500mm premium financing subsidiary
- Developing a new agent compensation and distribution strategy for the personal lines business
