Job 7332: Senior SEC / Financial Reporting Analyst

Location: MA-Other   South Shore
Northeast (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI & VT)
Salary Range: 100,000, plus bonus.
Bonus & Incentives: 10% Bonus.
Position Responsibilities: Position Summary: Responsible for preparing proxy statement disclosures (financial and non-financial information) and also for related disclosures to be included in the company’s Form 10-K filings. Also responsible for the tracking, calculation and review of various financial metrics as part of monthly close and financial reporting processes. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Coordinates the preparation and filing of disclosures in the company’s proxy statement. 2. Coordinates the preparation and review of proxy related disclosures (specifically executive compensation disclosure requirements) in the company’s Form 10-K. 3. Performs accounting and analysis for stock options. 4. Coordinates with transfer agent to track and maintain the inventory of outstanding shares of common stock on a monthly basis. Determines the effect of stock activity on the company’s financial statements and in the calculation of various financial metrics. 5. Performs monthly calculation and analysis of various financial metrics, such as earnings per share and book value per share. Prepares financial reports and exhibits to provide senior management with up-to-date results, analysis and projections. 6. Researches various accounting and financial reporting issues and aides in defining accounting policies and financial reporting standards in order to ensure current accounting literature is adhered to by the company. 7. Manages quarterly account reconciliation review and certification process to ensure adherence to the company’s account reconciliation policy. 8. Performs special projects to improve efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of financial reporting and related controls. 9. Works closely with Legal (SEC Associate General Counsel) and Human Resources’ Benefits and Compensation departments. Decision-Making Authority/Accountability Level: Under general to limited supervision, performs work of moderate complexity. Exercises some discretion and independent judgment within limited authority level and is capable of analyzing routine information requests. Work is often passed to a higher level for decision making.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors, CPA preferred.
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree required. Requires a high level of financial proficiency, skill, experience and training. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft financial application products.
Preferred Qualifications: CPA preferred. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the willingness to get into the detail of work. Strong time management and organization abilities. Expresses objectives, procedures, results and business impacts, clearly and logically in both written and verbal form. Consistently identifies issues, root causes and makes business-focused recommendations. Operates with sense of urgency to achieve stated goals and objectives.
