Job 7614: Tax Manager

Location: MA-Other   Wellesley
Northeast (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI & VT)
Salary Range: 85,000 - 110,000, plus 25% bonus
Bonus & Incentives:
Position Responsibilities: The Tax Manager position reports directly to the Director of Tax Planning. This individual will work closely with Senior Tax Management to provide research and analysis on corporate strategies to achieve company's financial targets. Responsibilities will include working with Business Unit leaders on critical business projects across the entire company Financial organization.

Main Accountabilities

Primary responsibility is to support the Director of Tax Planning with all of the following:

* Develop tax planning on structures, including preparation of validating research and analysis of all perceived and known tax implications for company's insurance and non-insurance entities.
* Handling tax due diligence, planning and implementation for US acquisitions and reorganizations, including ensuring proper integration within the US tax group and including purchase accounting tax-related issues.
* Liaise with other members of the Tax Department in both the US and Canada, as well as with other financial personnel regarding tax provision and forecasting processes.
* Supervise and review certain aspects of corporate federal tax returns.
* Research and evaluate complex accounting transactions and issues to determine proper accounting treatment and disclosure, including FIN 48 analysis.
* Evaluate existing processes and practices, making recommendations to management for opportunities for improvement.
* Research, analysis and documentation of various federal and international tax technical issues using online resources such as the CCH Tax Research Network.
* Maintenance and analysis of Earnings and Profits calculations for US and foreign legal entities.
* Manage outside tax consultants as well as handling requests from external auditors.
* Analysis of tax impact of both existing and proposed investment structures.
* Responding to IRS information requests in relation to federal tax audits.
* Providing timely responses to information requests from Canadian parent company.
* Analysis of impact to the Company of both proposed and enacted changes in tax law.
* Assisting with various projects on an ad hoc basis.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: * At least 4 years of relevant experience with a proven record of responsibility and growth within a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.
* Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications: * Desire to obtain CPA and/or MST is a plus.
