| Position Responsibilities: |
Participates in the loan management process by providing credit and loan underwriting expertise to a team of Commercial or Private Banking Advisors and Relationship Managers. Analyzes prospective loan transactions and credit worthiness of borrowers. Prepares credit analysis and provides opinions and recommendations regarding proposed credit and potential risks. Ensures all due diligence and background evaluation is complete and thorough before credit approval is granted. In the absence of the Credit Manager, the Underwriter will provide technical guidance to and review the work of less experienced Underwriters and Credit Analysts. May delegate and assign Underwriters and Credit Analysts to relationship teams based on experience, availability and portfolio complexity and size. Provides creative solutions to structuring deals for clients always balancing risk and profitability to the bank. |
| Education and Certifications/Licenses: |
Bachelors |
| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
*A minimum of 5 years experience in underwriting large and complex commercial credit and consumer loans, which includes analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating financial statements, cash flow analysis, familiarity with various industries, collateral issues and values, loan structuring and guarantor personal financial statements and tax returns.
Must be highly knowledgeable in commercial credit policies and procedures.
Strong credit analysis and accounting skills preferred.
Must possess excellent verbal and written and interpersonal skills.
Good organizational skills preferred.
Ability to assume responsibility and accountability for decision making preferred.
Ability to work well independently and in teams and interact effectively with all levels of Bank personnel and outside contacts preferred. |
