Position Description
Summary
The Relationship Banking discipline is beginning to take shape in the industry, and is expected to grow at a rapid pace. Our Company is taking a leadership position relative to competition with advanced Relationship Banking products, and requires a product management expert to lead this emerging product line. Success depends on your ability to establish the vision and value of Relationship Banking with clients and prospects, and execute product strategies that enables clients to quickly achieve measurable return on their investment.
Job Description
The Product Line Manager is responsible for all strategic and tactical initiatives required for a successful product line. This includes defining the vision for the product line and individual products, managing the products throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with development to deliver successful products. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are clearly-defined and met.
The Product Line Manager is expected to:
• Develop and maintain marketplace expertise
• Define the product line strategy and roadmap considering both short-term and long-term objectives
• Document product features and enhancements, and assemble into product release plans that support the objectives of the business
• Develop Investment Proposals and Business Scope documents
• Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
• Perform market and competitive analyses to define our positioning and differentiation strategy
• Develop competitive pricing models and price points
• Deliver a monthly revenue forecast
• Set product investment levels and manage bottom line impacts
• Develop sales tools and collateral
• Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings
• Engage directly with clients and sales reps to negotiate non-standard terms and work through product issues
• Manage press and analyst activity related to the product(s)
• Interlock plans with key internal suppliers and stakeholders to ensure effective execution
• Act as a leader within the company
Position Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager in a licensed software or ASP business
• 3+ years of experience in the Banking & Financial Services industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
• Domain expertise in one of the following areas:
1. Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Enterprise Reporting
2. Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
3. Relationship Packaging and Pricing
4. Profitability Analysis, Standard Costing
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Proven ability to build and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
• Must be able to travel 25% of the time
