Location: Western New York
Mid-Atlantic (DE, DC, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA & WV)
Salary Range: To $85,000 DOE plus up to bonus of 30%.
Bonus & Incentives: Initial bonus payout tied to achievement of specific criteria. Will discuss with qualified candidates.
Position Responsibilities: Our client company is a 100% employee-owned investment manager with over $17 billion in client assets. The firm has succeeded in meeting a variety of investment and risk management needs for a diverse clientele, including Taft-Hartley plans, corporate retirement plans, endowments, foundations, individuals and public funds. The company also provides comprehensive wealth management services, including financial, estate, and tax planning for its high-net-worth clients. Our client serves more than 6,000 accounts with clients in all 50 states. Position Description: We are seeking an experienced estate planning attorney to serve as Senior Wealth Management Consultant to the Family Wealth Management group. This person will be responsible for providing wealth management services to high-net-worth individuals, serving as the group’s estate planning expert, and helping to grow the service offering. Responsibilities • Meet with clients to gather information needed to develop wealth management plans dealing with 1) Retirement planning, 2) Estate and tax planning, 3) Insurance and 4) Asset protection. • Analyze client’s current position and develop a wealth management plan to help them accomplish their goals. • Meet with clients to present wealth management plans and agree on a plan of action. • Assist clients with the implementation of the various aspects of the wealth management plan. • Work with a client’s current team of professionals to help clients achieve their wealth management goals. • Conduct research and development to create client-oriented white papers dealing with wealth management planning topics. • Review estate plans and assist the Family Wealth Management group with estate planning related projects. • Tax research
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors, JD, CFP or willing to pursue
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: • Attorney with 5 years of estate planning experience. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Client experience. • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities. • Capability to self-motivate and self-manage.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience within the financial services industry a plus. • Willingness to pursue the CFP® designation. * Will have worked with clients in the $4M - $10M+ asset range. * Should have estate planning, estate tax planning and business continuity experience.
Additional Comments: Firm is well established, highly successful, well regarded within the industry and attracts highly competent professionals. Billable hours not required.
