| Position Responsibilities: |
This position leads the US state and local tax function and directs the various US indirect taxes (Occupancy, sales and use, escheat, etc.) and state and local income tax planning and compliance functions. In addition, assist with strategic and planning issues relating to VAT and other non-US indirect taxes.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Develop and implement tax strategy related to Occupancy tax audits and litigation in close coordination with US legal team and operating management
* Primary resource for technical support and tax planning relating to US state and local income tax issues arising from M&A activities, audits and US operations
* Oversee the escheat tax function
* Compliance work including: Oversee and review calculation of quarterly tax provisions for the US indirect taxes; Manage tax compliance relating US indirect taxation; Plan and manage SALT Tax Department Budget; Oversee SALT tax audits including communication with tax authorities and coordination of tax advisors; Manage and monitor the internal controls related to SALT tax function including periodic updates of control narratives.

| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
* SALT tax background with “Big 4” or a law firm essential
* Ability to deal with auditors and attorneys on tax controversy matters
* Significant hands on experience in state and local income taxes and indirect taxation.
* Ability to work with a high degree of independence & autonomy
* Knowledge of FAS 109, US Accounting for Income Tax
