| Position Responsibilities: |
This New York-based alternative investment management firm currently manages over $10 billion and has additional offices across the globe. The Firm’s investment approach is fundamental and research-intensive, focusing on long/short credit and event-driven opportunities. The Firm invests through a single, centrally managed investment team, allowing the greatest flexibility to opportunistically and quickly deploy capital.
The firm pursues a wide array of investments, including distressed, stressed and out-of-favor situations, shorting of investment grade and high yield debt, capital structure trades, special situations involving spin-offs, litigation plays or other events, and deep value situations. Though investments are concentrated in the U.S., the firm pursues opportunities globally, including the United Kingdom, continental Europe, Canada and Asia.
Job Description
This individual will be responsible for the calculation, validation and analysis of daily portfolio performance and exposure analytics. This includes the accounting and reconciliation of a complete set of fund maintained books and records, as well as reconciliation of this information to the 3rd party administrator. They will be involved in the closing of books on a monthly basis and validating NAV calculations as well as maintaining partner’s capital and share register records. They will reconcile and record monthly capital activity, and reconcile investor setups to investor documents. They will reconcile accuracy of interest, dividend, and expense accruals. They will monitor the cash reconciliation of PB wire movements to general ledger bookings to ensure timeliness and accuracy. |
| Education and Certifications/Licenses: |
Bachelors, CPA Preferred |
| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
REQUIREMENTS
• 2-5 years total work experience as an accountant and/or product controller
• Strong background in accounting and/or finance
• CPA preferred
• Good product knowledge, including fixed income instruments and derivatives
• Strong excel and analytical skills
