| Position Responsibilities: |
This deal-oriented position assumes responsibility for a transaction once a Proposal Letter is executed and a due diligence deposit/reimbursement agreement is received, and maintains "ownership" until the transaction ultimately closes. Primary responsibilities include completion of a comprehensive loan financing memorandum and facilitating the loan approval process including the completion of the Credit Approval Memo (CAM.) Assesses the creditworthiness of prospective clients by:
• Working closely with Business Development Officers, other Underwriters, the Portfolio Manager and the President & CEO.
• Developing a solid working relationship with prospective borrowers, key company referral sources (PEGs, investment banks) and other potential senior/junior lending partners.
• Coordinating/Scheduling and analyzing appraisals, valuations and field examinations.
• Analyzing historical and projected financial statements (including sensitized projection models).
• Calculating overall liquidity, availability and covenants.
• Assessing competition, industry and market comparables and relating it to the proposed borrower in terms of valuation, risks to the borrower's business model and the company’s exit strategy.
• Attending/Participating in credit committee for each transaction underwritten.
Facilitation of the loan approval process: The underwriter will negotiate with top-level management of prospective borrowers to structure and document transactions, manage counsel when needed to ensure that transactions are tightly documented, issues are appropriately identified and resolved and that transactions are executed in an efficient and cost effective manner. This position will facilitate the loan approval process prior to credit committee approval. Post approval coordinate the Account Executive introduction and take-over field examination and documentation.

| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
• Minimum of five years experience in a lending environment or in investment banking with a foundation in credit analysis (asset based and/or cash flow) and exposure to lending products and legal documentation.
• Underwriting experience required, with some loan closing experience preferred. In addition, exposure/experience within the ABL industry is helpful.
• Possess a high energy level, a proven analytical ability, negotiation acumen, with excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written communication).
• Solid business judgment.
• Proven ability to make decisions independently and decisively.
• Ability to draw on prior experience to resolve issues.
• Good sense in knowing the limits of one's authority are imperative requirements.
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with multiple constituencies is critical.
• Oriented toward a deal driven environment and be capable of managing multiple transactions simultaneously under tight time pressure.
• Business/Accounting/Finance degree required. MBA a plus.
• Some travel required.
