| Position Responsibilities: |
New role reporting to GM/VP Operations. Two profit centers are being combined in one manufacturing center. Lot of challenges and opportunities to make a difference. Company is known for product innovations and has global sales offices. Leadership is endorsing this role and wants a hands-on contributor and business partner who can provide a bring improve and drive change.
OPPORTUNITY: Revenues for this strategic business unit are about $5+ million and very profitable. Seeking to expand accounting professional to support this growing business.. There are over 10,000 active SKUs and both a make-to-order and standard cost process. Partner across all of manufacturing from product development, engineering and purchasing through production and assembly to warehousing and shipping. Manage the monthly closing process, accounting, cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, capital spending/budgeting, credit, budgets, forecasting and sales & property tax functions in accordance with GAAP and FASB guidelines. Supervises the Administration, Customer Relations/Order Entry Specialist.
Review vendor contracts and monitor price changes in raw materials. Update material, labor, and overhead rates as required. Identify reasons for changes in costs over last 6-12 months. Analyze and report on manufacturing variances to enable management to take corrective action. Manage changes in BOM and router. Maintain accurate costing values within sales quote programs. Enhance quality and timeliness of analysis and reports on product, customer, and market channel margins. Support month and year-end closing processes. Own cycle counting process. Manage excess and obsolete stock projects. Participate on development of annual budget. Be involved in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve business processes and identify opportunities to lower costs.

BS Accounting. Seek 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience that includes hands-on experience with plant accounting, product and production costs, inventory, and variance analysis. Experience with Six Sigma or kaizen events is a positive. Must have strong IT systems skills and interest. Knowledge of Great Plains, Peachtree, Macola, MAS90, Crystal reports. |
