Job 8548: Manager/Director Financial Reporting

Location: CT-Hartford   Bethel, CT
Northeast (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI & VT)
Salary Range: $100-130,000 plus 10%+ bonus. Stock potential long term.
Bonus & Incentives: Plus 10% bonus. Stock Potential Long Term
Position Responsibilities: Center stage role within decentralized global business with repeated record performance for the past 5 years. CEO game plan is to double revenues through acquisitions and targeted 10+% organic growth by 2010. Results oriented fast paced environment!! OPPORTUNITY: Join the CFO’s team. Be a hands-on leader for the preparation of timely and accurate global consolidation and disclosures for internal and external users in accordance with evolving FASB/GAAP/SOX and SEC requirements. Benchmark best practices in financial reporting and perform analysis of benchmark practices and methods of external financial disclosure. As a business partner to Corporate Controller and CFO, ensure the compliance of the financial statements to SEC/GAAP/FASB rules (incl. FAS 52) and regulations in an era of increased regulatory and public scrutiny of financial reporting practices. Interface with external auditors for year end audit and SOX compliance. As a corporate leader, communicate with all SBU financial personnel globally to assure accurate recording of accounting transactions and proper financial disclosure. Other involvement will include participation and or leadership on committees that plan and implement information system upgrades in the accounting and financial functions; improve “hard-close” business reviews to identify and resolve critical accounting issues and ensure proper accounting; and provide guidance on accounting “best practices.” Supervise 3+ professional staff.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors, CPA a Plus
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: BS a must; CPA a plus. Big 4 training ideal. Proficiency with GAAP accounting, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley and related regulations a must. Strong preference for Manager/Senior Manager from Big 4 or promotable candidate from a $300 million to $2 billion business with international operations. Must possess outstanding analytical abilities to drive fact-based decision-making. Excellent Excel skills.
