| Position Responsibilities: |
Position:
This role will be responsible for the implementation of accounting policy and resolution of issues affecting the Global Credit Card business. In addition, the role will also involve partnering with key business and departmental areas in providing strategic advice on accounting to achieve business objectives. The breadth of accounting areas typically encountered include include, but are not limited to: accounting for loans, allowance for credit losses, securitization, revenue recognition, acquisition and disposition accounting, intangible assets and accounting for rewards obligations.
Responsibilities:
• Identify, research, resolve and document accounting and reporting issues across the business.
• Coordinate operational accounting mechanics with GAAP requirements into policy statements that can be understood and applied by business units
• Monitor best practices/changes in industry, implement new standards
• Present periodic updates of accounting developments to the team and business units
• Participate in regular meetings with internal and external auditors to support accounting practices
• Interface with businesses, CFO’s, controllers and the accounting policy organization

| Education and Certifications/Licenses: |
Bachelors, CPA required |
| Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: |
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Accounting
• CPA certification required
• At least 8 years of relevant auditing and accounting experience for a financial institution; credit card business experience highly desirable
• Ability to apply policy knowledge to business needs |
| Preferred Qualifications: |
Strong technical background – ability to interpret technical accounting literature and explain and apply in a practical fashion
