| Position Responsibilities: |
Reporting to the Managing Director, the VP for Strategic Treasury Initiatives will be responsible for managing the net interest income for the Asset Servicing Balance Sheet. The candidate will lead projects and/or transactions which are designed to implement major elements of the group's strategic plan. Activities will include analyses and assessments which lead to a "go/no go" decision as well as driving specific projects and/or transactions from "proof of concept" stage potentially through to full business operational implementation. As such, the potential range of work assignments is quite broad and will involve working across each of the Company’s principal businesses.
Moreover, the position will involve a wide array of functional activities, including product development, design and implementation of new process capabilities, and execution of strategic transactions. The strategic initiatives will be wide-ranging over time, including: capital markets applications, accounting, legal considerations (e.g., tax, securities, corporate, real estate laws and regulations), financial modeling and analysis, and business plan development and modeling. As a result, the VP will be expected to participate in multi-disciplinary teams drawn from both internal personnel and from external consultants/advisors. Additionally, the candidate will participate in the evaluation of proposals for new business relationships, strategic and tactical initiatives such as new products, tools, and processes in support of department, division, and corporate goals.

Leadership: The ideal candidate is effective in working in a team-driven environment; being able to influence others regarding important issues while maintaining constructive relationships. A high degree of energy and enthusiasm is required so as to effectively meet aggressive timetables. Flexibility, creativity, team focus, and strong interpersonal communication skills are essential qualities for success in what will be a dynamic environment having unexpected outcomes and changing priorities. The candidate should be able to communicate complex concepts and ideas effectively, and have a great ability to respond to changing business requirements and to manage multiple assignments.
General: A minimum of 7 to 10 years experience in financial services, with extensive strategic project, trading and/or transactional experience. The ideal candidate will have both Treasury and strategic transactional experience, with a strong business understanding of balance sheet and interest rate analysis. Additionally, secondary market as well as direct knowledge of fixed income markets would be very desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively influence others.
The candidate must have outstanding analytical skills and the ability to develop an infrastructure to support the various balance sheet and interest rate policies, recommend and implement central bank rate changes, provide profit analysis and monthly reporting to senior management.
