Job 8818: Senior Financial Planner

Location:  
Mid-Atlantic (DE, DC, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA & WV)
Salary Range: 100,000-125,000
Bonus & Incentives: Although sales is not required they will pay a 25% incentive of all first year fee income.
Position Responsibilities: Lead Financial Planner Functions for New Clients Prepare Comprehensive Financial Plans, or objective based plans if desired. Evaluate client assets to determine which to hold and which to sell. Prepare an Investment Plan detailing the client's current assets and indicating which will be retained and which will be sold. Discuss this in detail in the Investment Plan meeting. Prepare an Investment Schedule for future investments. Consult this monthly and make additional purchases. Get cost basis information from clients and have this entered into Portfolio Center. Schedule and prepare for first quarterly meeting. Portfolio Management Work with assistant in mutual fund analyses. Review Morningstar Detail page created by assistant. Attend Investment Committee Meetings with all planners. Continue to learn about new functions within Morningstar and determine how they can help us with our marketing efforts or communications with current clients. Create client specific portfolios in Morningstar to illustrate valuable investment concepts (expenses, turnover, diversification, risk adjusted return, asset allocation, etc.) for clients in effort to retain business and acquire new business. Review various software packages when necessary to determine if they are appropriate or would create greater efficiency in the office. Research hardware and software as needed to improve office efficiency Create custom reports in Centerpiece and Junxure to improve efficiency and automate communication. Marketing Set up lunch meetings with accountants and attorneys. Discuss new developments within the firm or issues within the industry. Encourage referrals. Attend initial prospect meetings and establish client goals and objectives. Impress upon clients our experience in the areas in which they are interested. Prepare agenda and necessary reports for follow up prospect meetings. Develop/design/update the computer presentation used for new and existing clients. Join Network Group, Chamber of Commerce, etc. if desired. Attend various events to get to know other CFPs and professionals Network with other financial advisors. Network with non-CFP professionals to uncover and capitalize on industry trends and needs. Join NAPFA. Functions for Current Clients Related to Quarterly Reports Review quarterly reports. Prepare quarterly client specific memos to inform clients of recent changes in the portfolio or other developments in the past quarter to personalize the memo. Check cash in client accounts (at least quarterly) to be sure that adequate cash is available for monthly withdrawals and fees. Quarterly conference calls with some clients. Discuss recent market conditions, their portfolio performance and any other issues that they have. Related to Client Meetings Lead Annual Meetings with clients. Reports and draft agenda are prepared by the planner assistant. Review all reports carefully and finalize agenda by adding any client specific issues from past meetings or client notes. Discuss risk tolerance with clients and reallocate portfolios for those who choose to change to another risk model. Explain advantages and disadvantages with clients. Document in Junxure. Prepare an investment schedule for ongoing investments. Discuss annual gifting with clients and set actions if necessary as a reminder. Coordinate funding these gifts. Document in Junxure. Discuss charitable gifting from appreciated stock with clients. Coordinate with contra-broker to have shares transferred.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors, CFP
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: Candidate must have experience in a fee based financial planning environment. CFP is required.

Additional Comments: This organization has been recognized as best in peer group for the last several years by Bloomberg, Reuters etc. Rare opportunity to provide the personalized level of service that is sometimes difficult.
