Job 8821: Project Manager of Federal Tax

Location: MA-Boston  
Northeast (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI & VT)
Salary Range: 95,000 to 120,000
Bonus & Incentives:
Position Responsibilities: • Prepare and review domestic and international tax returns. Review tax returns prepared by the Tax Specialists. • Research complex tax issues and communicate those issues in writing adjusting to the audience. Issues may arise due to corporate expansion, changes in tax legislation or changes in business operations. • Develop and maintain documentation and oversee testing to support SOX. • Manage tax audits, both domestically and internationally including managing the tax appeal process and prepare written arguments to submit to the taxing jurisdictions. • Prepare accurate and concise supporting work papers for a variety of different audiences including outside consultants, tax auditors and attorneys. • Research issues and complete computations to satisfy Transfer Pricing (Sec. 482) and Uniform Capitalization (Sec. 263A) requirements. • Advise on issues encountered in other departments such as Payroll, Fixed Assets, Sales Tax, Escheat and Employee Benefits.
Education and Certifications/Licenses: Bachelors
Mandatory Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business • At least 5 years experience in public accounting or a large corporate environment • Comprehensive technical tax knowledge is required, including the understanding of financial reporting principles • Experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for large, multistate publicly traded company • Experience in researching and preparing complex technical/legal analysis Experience preparing and reviewing tax provisions • Working knowledge of FAS 109, FIN 48 and Sarbanes-Oxley is essential.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience overseeing income tax audits • Above average verbal and written communications skills • Advanced credentials such as CPA, MST or JD preferred.
